Day 1 Santiago de Chile – Arrival
Santiago, Chile’s capital and largest city, lies in a valley surrounded by the snow-capped mountains of the Andes and the Chilean Coastal Range. Founded in 1541, Santiago has been Chile’s capital since colonial times. It is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city and although it features many colonial buildings, it has grown into a modern metropolis and the cultural centre of the country.
Day 2 Santiago de Chile – City Tour SIB
Take a tour of the charismatic Santiago, visiting both the old and new areas of the city. Highlights include the Plaza de Armas, the city’s central square and the heart of the city’s old colonial core. The Plaza de Armas is home to the beautiful 18th century Metropolitan Cathedral, the early 19th century Royal Court Palace that houses the Natural History Museum and the Central Post Office completed in 1882. The Chess Club of Chile also meets here most days, a great opportunity to watch the locals immersed in a game of chess. Visit Cerro Santa Lucia, the hill on which Santiago was founded in 1541, now a park with fountains and stairs leading to a fort and panoramic viewpoint across the city. (SIB Services)
Day 3 Atacama – Arrival & Moon Valley Excursion SIB
San Pedro de Atacama is the archaeological capital of Chile. The small oasis town is one of the main cultural settlements in Atacama situated near the mouth of the main river that feeds the salt flat.
It lies on an arid high plateau in the Andes Mountains in the heart of some of northern Chile’s most spectacular scenery. Overlooking the Lincancabur Volcano, its dramatic surrounding landscape ranges from desert, salt flats, steaming geysers and hot springs to fascinating rock formations

Day 1 Santiago de Chile – Arrival
Arrival in Santiago, transfer to the hotel Luciano K, private service with English speaking guide.

This afternoon, travel across Cordillera de la Sal (Salt Mountain Range) to reach the Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon), one of the main attractions of this region. Located 19km from San Pedro de Atacama, the valley’s landscape resembles the surface of the moon with small but sharp crested hills created by the wind. You will visit in the late afternoon when the setting sun brings out the best of the valley’s incredible colors.
Activities in San Pedro de Atacama might be rescheduled upon arrival to the destination.

Day 4 Atacama – Atacama Salt Flat & Altiplanic Lagoons SIB

Visit the Salar de Atacama, one of the world’s largest salt lakes and the most important lithium reserves in the world. The lagoons here are home to various species of flamingos and other wildlife. On route to the Salt Lake, visit the town of Toconao. The houses in this small picturesque village are built from bricks of white volcanic stone and its friendly inhabitants are famous for their fine wool knitting skills. Continue the trip to the Altiplanic Lagoons of Miscanti and Meñiques, in the afternoon return to the hotel. (SIB Services)

Day 5 Atacama – Tatio Geysers SIB

Located 90 km Northwest of San Pedro, the Tatio Geysers sit at an altitude of 4,300 meters above sea level and are said to be the highest geothermal field in the world. Set off in the early morning to see the 100 geysers erupt water and let off steam to heights of up to 50 meters. On the way back to the town, drive downhill through a wonderful landscape where you can spot guanacos, vicuñas, flamingos and other wildlife. *Please ensure that you pack warm clothes for the Tatio Geysers tour.

Day 6 Atacama – Hito Cajón – Uyuni

This morning transferred from San Pedro de Atacama to Hito Cajon, the mountain pass on the border between Chile and Bolivia. You will be met at the border by your Bolivian guide.
From the border, enter the REA Reserve. Covering an area of over 700,000 hectares, the reserve features salt pans, volcanoes, snow-capped peaks, thermal springs and geothermal geysers and is home to unique species of fauna that have adapted to the extreme conditions of the region. Visit “Laguna Verde”, a beautiful green lagoon at the foothills of the Licancabur volcano (5,865 meters), where flamingos are often seen. Continue to the hot springs of Polques and the geysers Sol de Mañana with their active fumaroles and volcanic craters. Continue to “Laguna Blanca” and he foothills of the Licancabur Volcano. Enjoy lunch and continue through the high desert of Pampas de Dali. Finally, reach hotel where dinner is included.

Day 7 Uyuni – Day 2

After breakfast, continue to “Laguna Colorada” (4,278 meters), declared a RAMSAR site due to the 30,000 Andean flamingos that nest here. Laguna Colorado is characterized by the red color of its water and it is the most important flamingo site in the region. Travel through the Siloli Desert, one of the driest deserts in the world, with its bizarre rock formations caused by wind erosion. Also visit some small lagoons like Kañapa Lagoon, a saltwater lagoon surrounded by Caquena, Tapaquillcha and Kañapa volcanoes. We also visit Hedionda Lagoon with its strong smell of sulphur, Chiarkota Lagoon (a freshwater lagoon where diverse fauna can be seen) and Honda Lagoon. Enjoy lunch and finish visiting the point view of Ollague Volcano and the Chiguana Salt Flat. Arrival to the hotel where dinner is included.

Day 8 Uyuni – Day 3

Breakfast. We continue to Incahuasi Island (better known as Fish Island) – an oasis with a unique and isolated ecosystem that features algae and fossils. The area is covered with giant columnar cacti up to 10 meters high, some over 100 years old. Against the backdrop of the salt flats extending to the horizon, this landscape makes for spectacular photos. Set off across the Great Salt Flats. Enjoy lunch and arrival to Colchani village, where we observe the methods of salt extraction and salt processing.
Arrival to Uyuni town to visit the cemetery of old trains on the outskirts of Uyuni. Uyuni was an important transportation hub and in the late 19th century, rail lines were built by British engineers and the trains carried minerals to the Pacific Ocean ports. After the collapse of the mining industry in the 1940’s, many trains were abandoned outside Uyuni with the resulting Train Cemetery. The salt winds have led to the corrosion of the metal. Arrival to hotel where lunch is included.

Day 9 Uyuni – La Paz

This morning you will be transferred to Uyuni airport for your onward flight.
On arrival, you will be transferred from the airport to your hotel. El Alto airport is the highest International airport in the world at 4,080 meters above sea level. La Paz has a spectacular setting in a deep bowl surrounded by snow-capped mountains of the Altiplano. It lies in the shadow of the towering 6,438m high Mt. Illimani, always snow-covered and visible from many parts of the city. The city (from the main square) is 3,636 meters above sea level but the neighboring city of El Alto where La Paz International Airport is located lies at over 4,000 meters. Some of the highlights of La Paz itself include Plaza Murillo, San Francisco Church and the “Witches Market’’ where vendors sell dried llama fetuses and frogs, dried llama dung, herbs, remedies and other ingredients used in Aymara traditions and rituals.

Day 10 La Paz – City Tour PVT

Appreciate the cultural, historical, architectural and natural richness of La Paz. Visit the main square “Pedro Domingo Murillo”, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Congress, Government Palace, the Museum of Precious Metals, the Killi Killi viewpoint where you have a panoramic view of the City of La Paz and Snowy mountain of Illimani. Continue towards the south area to the Valley of the Moon, the place that defies your imagination, generate the sensation of being in a small moor of the Moon, its forms are a product of erosion and resemble volcanic craters.
Have the opportunity to ride one of the cable cars and finish at the witches’ market where local people buy products necessary for ritual ceremonies like the Ch’alla and offerings to the Pachamama (mother earth).

Day 11 La Paz – Lima

Transfer to airport to board flight to Lima. On arrival into Lima you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Guided assistance is included.
Lima, the capital of Peru, sits on the country’s arid Pacific coast. Founded in 1535, its colonial center is well preserved, but today Lima is a bustling metropolis and one of South America’s largest cities. The city is home to the various museums including the Museo Larco that houses a collection of pre-Columbian art and the Museo de la Nación, tracing the history of Peru’s ancient civilizations. Lima is known as the “gastronomical capital of the Americas”, encompassing specialties from ceviche and traditional coastal cooking to refined global fare. It even boasts several of the top restaurants in the world.

Day 12 Lima – City Tour

Today is spent touring Lima, the Colonial ‘City of Kings’. On the city tour, you will visit a number of well-known sites including the Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, the Plaza de Armas as well as the Catacombs located beneath the San Francisco Convent. This is a chance to appreciate Lima’s magnificent Colonial architecture as well as vignettes of its pre-Colombian past.

Day 13 Iquitos – Arrival

Transfer to the airport to take your onward flight to Iquitos.
Pick up from the airport and transfer to the Amazon Rescue Centre (CREA) to learn about the work of rescuing, conservation and reintroduction of various Amazon species. Continue to the picturesque port of Nanay, to board the boat that will take us through the Amazon river to the lodge.
After 50 min navigating world’s largest river reach the destination, welcome to the lodge with a refreshing local fruit drink and information about the installations. After checking in, enjoy a delicious local lunch.
In the afternoon, explore the biodiversity of the Amazon and its unique flora and fauna.
After a well-earned dinner, enjoy the starry sky around a camp fire prepared accompanied by the children from the village of Las Palmas demonstrating local dances.

Day 14 Iquitos – Day 2

Start the day before the dawn with a magical river trip to watch the sun rise and flocks of birds feeding, in a typical native boat.
After breakfast, get ready for a new adventure exploring the jungle and its different ecosystems and habitats. Return to the lodge to rest and eat lunch.
In the afternoon, short trip to Monkey Island to see the different species of monkey who live in this protected area.
After a well-earned rest dinner, enjoy a short excursion to interact with the jungle and identify its nocturnal inhabitants.

Day 15 Iquitos – Lima

Breakfast, followed by a visit to a small reservation for different species of native amazon animals. Return to the lodge to rest and have lunch, before returning to Iquitos and later be transferred to the airport to take your onward flight.
On arrival to Lima, you will be transferred to your hotel with guided assistance.

On arrival to Santiago, make your way to your hotel located in front of the airport.
