Day 4: TRIER, GERMANY
At the head of the Moselle Valley is Trier, Germany’s oldest city. Some say Trier is even older than Rome and was populated over a thousand years before the Romans arrived. Many Roman remains have survived, including a 20,000-seat amphitheatre; the Porta Nigra, the only surviving fortified gate from the original Roman settlement, which still gives access to the town’s centre; imperial baths; and the Roman Bridge, Germany’s oldest bridge, with stone pilings dating from 144-152 AD-all evidence of this once-grand Roman city. Choose from an included GUIDED CITY SIGHTSEEING or the more history-focused ROMAN TRIER guided tour. As you cruise the wide, peaceful curves of the Moselle River, it becomes obvious why the Moselle Valley is famous for its picturesque scenery, and that this is an important wine-growing region. (B,L,D)

Day 5: BERNKASTEL
In the middle of the Moselle region is the charming wine village of Bernkastel with its fascinating narrow streets and half-timbered houses that have stood since the Middle Ages. Enjoy a GUIDED WALK that includes the beautiful marketplace with its renaissance-style Town Hall, built in 1608- and the “pointed house,” built in 1416. Wine growers in this area look after Germany’s largest expanse of vineyards, the most celebrated of the vintages being the Bernkasteler Doktor. Later this afternoon, enjoy a TASTING of some of these well-loved German wines. (B,L,D)

Day 6: RHINE GORGE-RUDESHEIM
This morning, sail through the dramatic RHINE GORGE, the most beautiful stretch of the Rhine. Here, ancient castles stand sentry on lofty cliffs rising 120 metres (400 feet) above the waters. Cruise past the legendary rock of the Lorelei, where enchanted siren song lured unwitting sailors to their doom. In Rudesheim, the quintessential Rhine Valley wine town, visit SIEGFRIED’S MECHANICAL MUSICAL INSTRUMENT MUSEUM, where you’ll see and hear a large collection of selfplaying calliopes and music boxes from the 18th to the early 20th centuries. Enjoy a SPECIAL TREAT, then there’s free time to pick up some souvenirs on the narrow, cobblestoned Drosselgasse, where colourful flowers, open-air wine gardens, and live music add to the festive atmosphere. (B,L,D)

Day 7: MAIN RIVER VILLAGE
On the banks of the Main River you find cultural gems of small towns, many of them tucked away behind defensive walls and towered gates. With halftimbered houses, narrow streets, and medieval town centres, these picturesque Bavarian villages are a photographer’s delight. Join your Local Guide to experience one of these towns on a GUIDED WALK. (B,L,D)

Day 8: WURZBURG
Relax on board this morning as you cruise the Main River. This afternoon, arrive in Wurzburg. Surrounded by verdant hillside vineyards, Wurzburg, the “Pearl of the Romantic Road,” makes an immediate impression with imposing Marienberg Fortress perched above town and the 15thcentury Alte Mainbrucke (Old Main Bridge). On your GUIDED SIGHTSEEING TOUR, visit the magnificent baroque BISHOP’S RESIDENZ, home to the largest ceiling fresco ever painted. Then, there’s time to relax, do some shopping, or stop in a Konditorei for a mouth-watering pastry and a cup of coffee-a German afternoon tradition. (B,L,D)

Day 9: BAMBERG
Enjoy another pleasant morning of sailing before you arrive in medieval Bamberg in the early afternoon. The town is the former residence of one of Germany’s most powerful imperial dynasties and today a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your GUIDED WALKING TOUR takes in its historic centre, including the great 13th-century Romanesque cathedral and the fascinating Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall)-built on an island in the middle of the Regnitz River when the bishop refused to give the townspeople land for a town hall! (B,L,D)

Day 10: NUREMBERG (DISEMBARKATION)-PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC
This morning, arrive in Nuremberg, where you bid farewell to your crew after breakfast and transfer by motorcoach to cross the Czech border in the Bohemian Forest and head for Prague, the “Golden City.” (B)

Day 11: PRAGUE
Prague is a 1,200-year-old city preserved in time, and, unlike other Central European capitals, it was not bombed during the 20th-century wars. On your GUIDED SIGHTSEEING TOUR, see its best-known treasures, such as the Old Town’s Astronomical Clock, dating from the 15th century and once the envy of all of Europe; HRADCANY CASTLE GROUNDS; St. Vitus Cathedral; and the Charles Bridge, the oldest bridge in Prague. Browse the shops for hand-cut crystal or art books. Mix with the locals in Wenceslas Square, an important meeting point where people demonstrated against the communist regime; watch performers and shop at the market stalls on Charles Bridge; sample the local plum dumplings and Pilsner; or stroll along the Vltava River. Your Cruise Director will have more suggestions for you. (B)

Day 12: PRAGUE
Your holiday ends with breakfast this morning. (B)

I have organised my travel with World Travel Connections for over 10 years now. It has always been very easy. Staff are pleasant and prompt in responding to any queries. My wife and I organised recently an anniversary trip. Nicolas and Janet at World Travel Connections made it so easy. There knowledges thoroughly helped us. We wish to thank them once again for putting together such wonderful trip together. I recommend this agency to anyone wanting personalised service. We even had a free taxi to take us to the airport and take us back home.

Yes we are back. Everything went well. The car transports in Brisbane and Phuket were all on time and drivers very courteous. Le Meridien was an excellent resort and we appreciated being out of the maddening crowd (Patong). Although we did go to Patong on several days for cheaper food/meals. Breakfast at Le Meriden was buffet and first class Plenty of security so felt completely at ease at the resort plus the benefits of the pools and exclusive use of beach. Rooms and room service could not be faulted. Singapore Swissotel likewise was excellent. Buffet breakfast first class. Rooms and room service excellent. Plenty to see and do but 3 days not enough time to do Singapore justice.

Although a little tired the experience was 5 star.

Thank you for your professional and efficient handling of numerous, difficult and complicated travel arrangements for me (including unusual routes through Europe, Asia and Middle East) – all went extremely well! However, thank you more so, for your exceptional kindness and care when your assistance was needed urgently and ‘out of hours’. This was much appreciated, especially as I was travelling on my own. Looking forward to the next one! Thank you!

To the Customers and New Travellers,

I have arranged my travel through World Travel Connections for about 10 years now as a frequent traveller.  The firm, run by Nicolas Delacharlerie and…, has always provided me with the best travel options, the best access to deals and promotions and most importantly ready access by email or phone wherever I am in the world.  They certainly have their customer’s interest at heart.  They are a pleasure to sit down and discuss plans in a friendly yet professional capacity. They will continue to have my business because of their professionalism and caring nature.

On behalf of Natalie Maree Caruana, Emmah Caruana, Sarah Caruana and I we would like to thank Nicolas and Janet of World Travel Connections. Amazing personal service, unique destinations, no place he wasn’t totally accross and his flexibility and compassion given our personal circumstances was and is amazing. He personally drove us to the airport. We could not recommend any other travel agent. A new friend for life. Thanks again Nicolas.

Nicolas we loved it! You put together a great package. Savanna Private Game Reserve in Sabi Sands was probably the benchmark in the safari lodge space but Chobe & Xugana Island were also very good. Savanna really succeeds in limiting the number of Jeeps at wildlife sightings so it greatly maximises the experience. They are also more prepared to go off road rather than stick to recognised tracks. Great stuff when chasing a pack of wild dogs after Impala & a Waterbuck. We saw all the Big Five by the end of the first full day but not limited to static viewing—- really active sightings sometimes.  Vic Falls are amazing!! As was Table Mountain.  The Blue Train was also well worth doing. All transfers by the two main businesses were exceptionally professional & informative. Small planes,mud/grass runways, dingy pickup etc in the Delta was all very different!

Finishing it off at Trou aux Biches in Mauritius was just what we needed after all of the above.

Highly recommended the whole thing.

Regards,

Nick and Janelle

Hi Nicolas

Thank you so much for arranging our Europe trip this year. Everything ran smoothly and we had an amazing time. We want you to know how much we appreciated your great customer service through the planning and during the trip itself. We look forward to the day we can do another trip like this and you’ll be the first one we call!

Kind regards, JP and N

Thank you for taking such fabulous care of my family on our recent overseas trip. You demonstrated considerable ingenuity in sourcing tricky and urgent flight arrangements. You went above and beyond to ensure our family had a positive travel experience and I felt completely supported knowing that you were always just a phone call or email away. We look forward to travelling with you again.

Warm regards, Gaby
